Top 3 Reasons I bought my baby an iPad

Many would say that 9 months is much too early for a baby to have their own iPad, but I think it is awesome and helps keep my little guy's grubby hands off of my laptop keyboard. These are my top 3 reasons that I am satisfied with my purchase made less than 24 hour ago.

1) FaceTime - Living 2000 miles away from grandparents make it difficult to share all of the little moments of a baby on the move. With FaceTime, HG gets a chance to "talk" with and see
his grandparents. We had a 15 minute conversation today that involved  playing with the cute baby in the corner of the screen, lots of smiles and babbling, crawling around the living room showing Grandma all of his toys, and even a look inside Grandma's refrigerator to see what was inside.

2) Itsy Bitsy Spider by Duck Duck Moose - All of the apps that these guys make are awesome, but HG likes this one especially. He hasn't figured out all of the activities but he loved the little squirrel and the counting peanuts. As a mom, I really liked the Easter egg hunt. We are also fans of Old MacDonald and Wheels on the Bus.

3) No Keyboard to mash on - This is my favorite part of the iPad experience. At 9 months, HG loves to bang on thing with his constantly sticky fingers. I was never brave enough to let him play on my laptop especially after HG "discovered" some hidden features of HB's computer after mashing on his keyboard that made the blue screen of death look like child's play. We got a Zagg invisibleSHIELD to baby-proof the screen and I have no fears of damaging the screen as long as there is parental supervision.
